Phil Hay: Leeds United behind-the-scenes agreement in place for next two transfer windows
Nick Hammond will continue in his role as transfer consultant at Leeds United for the next two transfer windows, according to Phil Hay.
Writing on The Athletic website on Wednesday (22 November), the journalist said the 56-year-old, who previously worked at Celtic, West Brom and Reading, was brought in as an interim football adviser in June to help oversee the Whites’ recruitment for this season.
While he initially joined the club on a short-term deal, Hay confirmed he will now remain at Elland Road until the end of next summer as he looks to continue helping Daniel Farke build a promotion-winning side.

Positive
This seems like a pretty positive development for Leeds as Hammond is a vastly experienced individual within the footballing world, particularly at Championship level.
His previous exploits in the game, having been director of football at Reading, will have provided him with expert knowledge on a number of aspects that could fall under his remit.
The recruitment from the Whites was solid over the summer as a number of new signings were drafted in to replace the several outgoings of first-team players at Elland Road.

The club were clearly pleased with Hammond’s work behind the scenes and have now taken steps to ensure they can call on his services over the course of the next two transfer windows.
They will be hoping the recruitment next summer will be geared towards building a side that can compete in the Premier League depending on how the rest of this season pans out.
