Phil Hay claims Leeds looking at signing 20y/o who could be Forshaw replacement
Leeds United are actively looking for a striker, with a move for Che Adams looking further away than ever, but that doesn’t mean work on other targets has stopped.
One fan asked whether a move for Stabæk midfielder Emil Bohinen was progressing.
Athletic journalist Phil Hay confirmed that Leeds are currently “looking at him”.
Bohinen, 20, was touted as a possible winger by the Yorkshire Evening Post but he is predominantly a central midfielder and our Tactics people think he is far more likely to be a Forshaw replacement.
Forshaw has been struggling with a hip injury and has been out since the start of the season.
He looks nowhere nearer a return, despite a hopeful message that he would be hitting the grass at the start of January.
After the QPR game, Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that he did not know when Forshaw would be returning to action.
MOT Leeds News columnist Paul Robinson said that hip injuries can be really tricky and said it might take an operation to sort out, which could rule Forshaw out for a long time.
The loss of Forshaw has been brought into sharp focus after Kalvin Phillips was sent off and banned for three games.
Forshaw would have been a natural replacement but with him on the sidelines, the Leeds squad is stretched.
That could be pushing Leeds into the transfer market for an extra body and Bohinen would fit the bill.
The next game up for Leeds is Millwall on Tuesday and that could see Alfie McCalmont come in for his league debut, or Ben White pushed up from centre-back.
Neither are ideal solutions.
