‘Perfect’, ‘Get it done’ – Many Leeds fans blown away as ‘Defender’s worst nightmare’ is linked

A section of Leeds United fans on Twitter are excited by reports that AC Milan striker Rafael Leao is a summer target for the club.

Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Friday that Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has “taken concrete steps” to pursue a deal for the 21-year-old forward.

Leeds reportedly want two new attackers before the transfer window closes in October and Radrizzani has been in touch with Milan to find out how likely it is for the Whites to complete a deal for Leao.

Leeds fans are understandably blown away by the report.

Leao is an exciting young talent and AC Milan managed Stefano Pioli has said that the Portugal Under-21 international has “incredible potential” [Football Italia].

Leeds supporters seem to think the same, with one saying Leao “looks like a defender’s worst nightmare”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We agree that signing Leao would be quite the coup for Leeds United.

However, Di Marzio has added in his report that AC Milan are not keen on the idea of selling the young forward, especially after only signing him from Lille last summer for £32million.

Leao has also been described as the ‘Portuguese Mbappe‘ and anyone compared to the France and PSG superstar is going to be hard to get hold of – especially for a newly-promoted Premier League club.

Leeds are a massive club – we know that.

But players are not going to see the Whites as an established top-flight side just yet and these kind of players could be just out of the reach for the time being.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have tabled an offer for this Dutch attacker.
