Patrick Bamford mooted for controversial Championship move after what he said at Leeds

Patrick Bamford is still looking for a new club after leaving Leeds in August.

Leeds’ attacking woes were a theme of every conversation for the first four games of the season, though the latest victory against Wolves somewhat subdued them.

However, the concerns were that strong that a handful of supporters suggested that Bamford could actually return to Leeds.

Of course, that never actually happened in the end, with Bamford still looking for his next club.

However, a potential transfer to a struggling Championship side has emerged, and after comments made by the Englishman just a few months ago, it would raise a few eyebrows to say the least.

Sheffield United to swoop for Patrick Bamford?

Bamford’s time at Leeds was marred by injuries and poor form, but his antics off the pitch often saw him praised by the Whites’ support.

Even more so when Bamford led expletive chants aimed at Chris Wilder after Leeds secured promotion back to the Premier League at the expense of Sheffield United.

That incident led to a lot of controversy, but according to The Star, Wilder could actually bring Bamford to Bramall Lane.

The Blades have struggled massively this season, and after six games, they sit rock bottom of the Championship having failed to pick up a single point.

Things have been so bad that many Leeds supporters may not actually realise that Wilder was sacked in the summer and was brought back after a dismal start under Ruben Selles.

It’s no surprise that Patrick Bamford is without a club

High wages, a terrible injury record and an even worse record when it comes to goals. Is anyone really surprised that Bamford hasn’t been picked up yet?

There was a feeling in the summer that a League One club could swoop for the former Whites star, but as of yet, he has next to no suitors, if any at all.

At 32 years old, Bamford’s next move is likely to be his last, and that may be a big reason why he isn’t jumping into any decision.

With that said, you would assume at some point between now and the winter window someone would take a risk on a striker who played plenty of times in the Premier League.
