Patrick Bamford has offers to quit Leeds United, Elland Road replacement lined up as transfer twist emerges
Patrick Bamford has offers to quit Leeds United in the summer with Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz lined up as a replacement, according to Fichajes.
The Spanish news outlet reported on Wednesday (5 April) that Diaz, 29, will leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season when his contract expires and has options across Europe for when he does move on a free transfer.
It is understood that Leeds “will make a proposal to Mariano” if 29-year-old Bamford quits Elland Road.

Fichajes claims Bamford “has many proposals to change the air and go to a club with more sporting aspirations”.
No way
Firstly, who would be looking to sign Bamford right now with his injury record and poor performances on the pitch this season since returning to fitness?
Secondly, Leeds wouldn’t replace him with a striker who’s played just eight times this season, scoring no goals, and played just 11 times last season with just one goal.
Diaz has played just 443 minutes for Real Madrid across all competitions in the last two seasons.
There is no way that a team in a major European league would be looking to sign the Bernabeu outcast.
And still, to replace Bamford? No chance.

We really don’t see Bamford leaving Elland Road this summer, even if we’re relegated.
If we go down, he could fire us back to the Premier League but if we stay up, he’d be a good backup option to keep on board in case there are any injuries to other forwards.
If Bamford’s going to leave Elland Road, we doubt the news will be broken by a Spanish news outlet.
