Patrick Bamford exit: New Leeds United hint emerges in Sunday newspaper
Patrick Bamford is likely to stay at Leeds United if Joe Gelhardt leaves in January, according to the Football League Paper.
The newspaper reported on 29 December (page 21) that the 22-year-old is wanted on loan by multiple Championship clubs ahead of the winter window.
The Whites would prefer to send the English forward abroad and if a deal is completed, Bamford will remain at Elland Road for the rest of the campaign.
Patrick Bamford Leeds United future depends on Joe Gelhardt
The one-cap England international has struggled for form for the West Yorkshire club in recent months, going without a goal since April.
As a result, it isn’t much of a surprise that the former Chelsea youngster has been linked with a move away from Leeds ahead of the January window.
Wrexham have shown an interest in the striker and it’s an “internal dream” to bring the 31-year-old to the Racecourse Ground with a view to earning promotion from League One [Ben Jacobs].
Although the prospect of joining the Hollywood glitz and glamour of the Red Dragons would be an exciting one, it doesn’t appear that Daniel Farke is going to sanction a deal.

This looks likely to only go through if Gelhardt leaves in January but if the Whites want him to move away from England, the options may be limited.
It will be interesting to see how the January window goes at Elland Road and whether the ex-Wigan youngster and Bamford are still playing in White.
