Paris Saint-Germain hold talks this week to sign Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente

Paris Saint-Germain are still interested in signing Diego Llorente from Leeds and have held talks about a deal this week, according to Santi Aouna.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (19 January), the reliable French journalist reports that the Ligue 1 champions have prioritised the signing of youngster Lenny Yoro but they are still working on a deal for Llorente.

In fact talks were held this week to get his loan from Elland Road to Roma cut short and bring him to Paris, with all parties open to getting a deal done before the deadline.

“The Diego Llorente file is still on the table (contrary to the denials),” he wrote.

“Those close to Campos met this week to try to move the file forward.”

Good

It makes no odds to Leeds whether he is playing in Rome or in Paris, so long as we’re getting paid and he isn’t in Yorkshire.

Llorente made it abundantly clear that he didn’t want to be here, and when we gave him a new contract it was purely to protect his transfer value.

We don’t want him here and he doesn’t want to be here, so him being elsewhere is the best thing for everyone. But if he wants to cut his move to Roma short and move to PSG then they need to pay up.

Leeds United

There is already a deal in place between Roma and Leeds for wages to be paid and even an agreed amount for a potential permanent transfer at the end of it.

If PSG match the terms already in place, which they should have no issue with considering their wealth, then there’s no reason to stop that deal from happening, especially if Roma are up for it and don’t mind him leaving as it wouldn’t sour relations for any future deals between the teams.
