Paixao transfer will take Leeds to ‘another level’ as lead taken at Elland Road
Leeds United could potentially complete a game-changing transfer by signing Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao.
The Brazilian national has been a key player for the Eredivisie outfit and caught the attention of many with his contributions last season.
Paixao is wanted at Elland Road this summer, and the Whites seem to have taken the lead in the race for his signature.
Daniel Farke’s team are vying to beat Olympique Marseille to buy the 25-year-old in the ongoing transfer window, and his addition may be massive in West Yorkshire.

Leeds United in pole position as Paixao to take transfer window to another level
Paixao’s signing will take Leeds’ transfer window to “another level”, Graham Smyth says.
The YEP journalist believes the Feyenoord forward’s arrival may be the cherry on top of an already good window at Elland Road this summer.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Eredevisie | 34 | 16 | 14 |
Smyth feels the West Yorkshire outfit are in pole position to sign the 25-year-old, but it’s seen as the hardest deal to pull off so far.
The journalist wrote on X (26 July): “My gut can’t be heard over the pounding of my heart. Scores goals from nothing and takes good corners. He’d take what is already a very good window to another level. Feels like if there’s a pole position, Leeds are in it, as it stands. Count no chickens. Hardest deal to do so far.”
Farke will be delighted with Paixao transfer at Leeds
Leeds have worked hard to sign Paixao this summer, and the recruitment team should be commended if the deal is completed.
The Whites evidently needed to strengthen the left side of their attack and will undoubtedly do so with the Brazilian national’s arrival.
After bolstering the midfield and defence with the likes of Sean Longstaff, Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson, it’s encouraging to see the West Yorkshire outfit now focusing on their forward line.
Leeds have also targeted Nikola Kristovic, but it looks like the striker has rejected a potential move to Elland Road in the ongoing transfer window.
The Whites have certainly had an impressive transfer window so far, and while Farke will be delighted if Paixao is signed, the German manager will arguably be hoping for more attacking additions.
Another centre-forward must be the next priority for the West Yorkshire outfit if both Patrick Bamford and Matteo Joseph leave, and it will be interesting to see how the situation in LS11 unfolds before the end of August.
