Orta likely to be involved in Leeds talks to sign striker over coming days - report

Leeds United are set to hold talks with Liverpool over the coming days as they aim to convince the Reds to let them sign striker Rhian Brewster on loan, according to Football Insider.

The news outlet claims that Jurgen Klopp is ready to allow Brewster, 19, the chance to go out on loan in the second half of the season and plenty of clubs are interested in the promising England Under-21 international.

Leeds are said to be one of the clubs keen on Brewster with Arsenal reportedly planning to recall Eddie Nketiah from his loan spell at Elland Road in January.

It seems as though the Whites have lined up Brewster as a replacement for Nketiah and Football Insider reports that director of football Victor Orta is likely to be involved in the upcoming talks with Liverpool.

Brewster only made his senior debut earlier this season when Klopp started him in the Carabao Cup win against MK Dons.

He then made his second – and most recent – first-team appearance in the penalty shoot-out win against Arsenal in October.

Brewster is clearly a player who needs more experience in senior football and as long as Liverpool’s first-choice attackers remain fit, chances are likely to be limited for him at Anfield.

Leeds might be a decent place for the teenager to head if Nketiah is recalled by Arsenal but the Reds will no doubt be aware that Nketiah has failed to start a single Championship fixture this season.

That could be key when it comes to Liverpool deciding where to let Brewster head.

In other Leeds United news, this boost could not have come at a better time for the Yorkshire club.
