Leeds United are interested in Nicolas Tagliafico and his agent says the defender could be free to leave this summer, per FC Inter News.
Tagliafico has attracted interest from the Whites [Veronica Inside] but agent Ricardo Schlieper was responding to the recent links to Inter Milan.
He claimed the Italians are not certain to land Tagliafico, but revealed Ajax will allow the 28-year-old to leave if the right offer is made.
He told FC Inter News, “Nico only answered a direct question. Who wouldn’t like to wear a shirt as important as the Nerazzurri one? Everyone would like it.
“However, the same sentence applies to any imported company. With Inter there is nothing concrete.
“It’s still early, so many aspects will have to be analyzed, let’s wait and see what happens.
“We agree with the Dutch club that if a suitable offer arrives… Nicolas would be free to leave.”
Can we sign him?
We are not sure if this is good or bad news for our prospects of signing Tagliafico.
Schlieper seems to confirm Inter are interested in the left-back, and that is a blow as the Serie A champions-elect are a more appealing prospect than Leeds.
However, the agent is still open to things taking a turn and since nothing is concrete we could sign him if we make a move soon.
Ajax are open to his departure so sounding out a potential fee has to be the priority for Victor Orta right now.
We are in need of a left-back and Tagliafico ticks a lot of boxes, and if he is out of our price range it is best to know that now before wasting time in the transfer window.
We are hopeful of a deal progressing, however, as we have the appeal of Marcelo Bielsa, the Premier League, and a project in place that is aiming for Europe.
