Newcastle United want to sign Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto, he is ready to go
Newcastle United want to sign Leeds star Wilfried Gnonto this summer to bolster their attacking options, according to TEAMtalk.
Writing on their website (15 July), the news outlet reports that the Italy international is now a target to replace Saudi-bound Miguel Almiron with Eddie Howe a huge admirer of the 20-year-old.
Leeds accept they may be forced to cash in on their stars this summer and Gnonto is ready to leave for Premier League football, but the Whites will not accept anything lower than £25million.

The transfer front at Elland Road for star outgoings has been relatively quiet in comparison to what many expected, but with Euro 2024 now over and clubs returning for pre-season it’s going to start heating up now.
Archie Gray was the first out of the door in a £40million move to Tottenham which means all future sales will be on Leeds’ terms [YEP, 17 June], but Glen Kamara is set to move on too in an £8.6million transfer to Rennes [Fabrizio Romano, 13 July].
Interest in Crysencio Summerville has quietened down recently but still exists, and now clubs are seemingly ready to test the water on Gnonto.

After he pushed for a move last summer unsuccessfully, it’s widely expected he will move on this year after the club missed out on promotion and Newcastle would be a big step up in terms of the level of their aspirations.
The Magpies certainly have the cash too, so if they really want to make a deal happen that shouldn’t be an issue and it may be the end of Gnonto’s time at Elland Road.
In other Leeds news, a pair of defenders are set for talks with Daniel Farke over their Elland Road futures this week.
