Newcastle United are among several Premier League clubs monitoring Leeds United prospect Harry Gray, according to TBR Football.

Graeme Bailey reported [11 September] that the 15-year-old striker - brother of Archie Gray - has courted interest from some of England's elites after featuring in pre-season for Daniel Farke's side.

Gray 'junior' has also scored eight in 11 appearances for Leeds' Under-18 side, and is also wanted by Tottenham, where his elder brother made a £25m summer switch.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all additionally been credited with an interest in the teenage frontman.

Leeds United determined not to lose another Gray

Without applying too much pressure, it appears as though schoolboy Harry is following a similar trajectory to Archie Gray, now an established name in his own right after last season's superb performances.

Both brothers are playing in a way that is belying their tender years, and the younger of the two is now courting the same level of interest as Spurs' new eight-figure fee midfielder.

Leeds United will be keen to keep hold of Harry for as long as possible, but know the power is out of their hands until the player is old enough to sign a professional contract - which in England is 17, and a scholarship would be available to offer next season at 16.

Until this point, any club can swoop in and sign Gray for a basic rate of compensation, which could be a difficult pill to swallow should he continue with his superb progress.

The Gray name has been an important one at Elland Road for generations, and Leeds want to carry on the baton with young Harry for as long as they can.
