MOT View: Noah Okafor is perfect striker solution for Leeds United, Victor Orta must fend off Serie A giants
Leeds United need to do whatever is takes to pip AC Milan to the signature of Red Bull Salzburg striker Noah Okafor in January.
Leeds have massively struggled for goals this season, and a striker is desperately needed in the January transfer window.
Okafor, who scored 14 goals for Red Bull Salzburg last season, definitely fits the bill. Leeds are competing with Serie A giants AC Milan for the 22-year-old’s signature according to Calcio Mercato
Okafor previously worked with Marsch when the American brought him to Salzburg from Basel in 2020, and the Leeds boss is seemingly keen on a reunion.
Whatever it takes
There’s no time for Leeds to waste in January – a striker is desperately needed. Jesse Marsch clearly pleaded with the board for a new forward in the summer, but after deals for Bamba Dieng and Cody Gakpo collapsed, he was left with 18-year-old Wilfried Gnonto.
That can’t be allowed to happen again. Leeds need a first-team-ready striker to come in and inject goals into this side.
Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo have consistently fallen short of expectations and are missing clear-cut chances every single week.
With the side losing more and more confidence as each chance is missed, Leeds need to hurry and bring in a natural goalscorer to pick up the team’s morale.
Okafor is definitely a target that could do that. He’s young, versatile and is also in great form in Austriaafter scoring eight goals already this campaign.
Marsch clearly rates him highly and views him as a striker capable of dragging Leeds out of their current mess. He needs someone to come and save his job, and Okafor could do just that.
