MOT View: Leeds fans will love mouthwatering journalist claims as striker bid reportedly lodged

Published on:

Leeds United fans will be forgiven for not knowing too much about Basel striker Arthur Cabral but a Brazilian journalist has made some mouthwatering claims about the Whites reported target.

According to Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte, Leeds have tabled a bid worth £16.2million for the 22-year-old centre-forward.

Basel are said to value Arthur at £18million after he scored 18 goals in 39 total appearances last season but Leeds' current offer is still way more than the reported £4million permanent fee the Swiss club had to pay to sign him after his loan spell from Palmeiras [L'Equipe].

Arthur's form in Switzerland last season was impressive but what else is there to know about the striker?

O Povo journalist Fernando Graziani has tweeted a lot about Arthur since Leeds fans cottoned onto the fact that he has quite an in-depth knowledge about the Basel star.

Here are some of Graziani's most poignant tweets about him:

To summarise, Graziani says that Arthur is "getting better every day" and has "enormous" potential.

It is also worth noting that the striker "has all the characteristics to do very well in the Premier League" and it is his "dream" to play in England's top-flight.

It's all well and good to say that the player is brilliant but what about the transfer link itself? Is it reliable?

Graziano also had an update on that saying that Leeds' bid is "concrete" after checking with what seems to be the striker's agent.

That's a lot to take in and it's all very positive.

Leeds United fans have already shown their support for a move to sign Arthur and based on these latest claims, we're kind of hoping that this deal goes through as well.
