MOT Super Fans: Verdict as Ayala and Kamara linked with moves to Leeds
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch
The January transfer rumours are starting to kick in and Leeds have already been linked strongly with a move for a new centre-back.
Middlesbrough’s Daniel Ayala has been on Teeside for the past six years and in that time he’s endeared himself to his own fans while simultaneously winding everyone else up.
The Northern Echo delivered an update on Monday that went as far as saying that Leeds are “ready to make a January offer” for him, with the player out of contract in the summer.
More depth in the centre of defence would be a good thing but Leeds weren’t after anyone else in the summer, so why now? Perhaps a couple of injuries to Liam Cooper have persuaded them to think again.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are also interested in Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, although they claim he would be for next summer rather than a January signing.
We asked our panel of Super Fans what they made of the two players and whether they’d want them at Elland Road – and the majority were surprisingly positive about a move for Ayala…
