Mina Raiola likely to discuss Rodrigo De Paul future amid Leeds United interest

Mina Raiola has arrived in Udinese and is likely to discuss the future of Rodrigo De Paul amid interest from Leeds United, according to TuttoUdinese.

The Italian website reports that Atletico Madrid are in the driving seat over a deal to sign the 26-year-old Argentina international but Leeds, Liverpool and Arsenal are “in the background”.

De Paul has been linked with a move to Elland Road ever since last summer when he tweeted to say he’d be interested in playing for Marcelo Bielsa with the Whites..

Raiola in Udine – but not for Leeds

There’s no way we’re signing De Paul.

Leeds may be interested in signing De Paul but would he really be interested in joining us when he has La Liga champions Atletico Madrid sniffing around him?

It would be hard to say no for most players so we need to accept that De Paul is not going to arrive at Elland Road this summer.

We do need a player like him though.

Sky Sports has recently reported that the Whites want to sign a player in the mould of De Paul, which is understandable after the stunning season he had.

According to FBRef, Lazio’s Luis Alberto, Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Napoli’s Piotr Zieliński are similar to De Paul.

We haven’t seen the club linked with any of those players this summer but we’re waiting to see whether any of their names crop up.

In other Leeds United news, there’s been a development in Leeds’ bid to sign Michy Batshuayi.
