Medical underway: Kalvin Phillips arrives to complete Leeds United move to Manchester City – Sky Sports

Kalvin Phillips is currently undergoing a medical with Manchester City ahead of leaving Leeds United, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.

City have agreed to pay between £45million and £50million for the 26-year-old England midfielder [Sky Sports].

Since that agreement was reached, there’s been a wait for the deal to be completed due to Phillips being on holiday.

It seems as though he’s back in the country now though and Bridge claims his Man City medical is in progress.

“This time last week, we reported Man City and Leeds agreed a fee for Kalvin Phillips,” said Bridge, as shown on the Sky Sports Premier League Twitter account on Friday morning (1 July).

“He’s having his medical at the moment.”

Very close

If this deal isn’t formally announced by the end of the day, we’ll be shocked.

City agreed a deal with Leeds last week and they’ve been waiting since for him to return from holiday and finalise his move to the Etihad.

Once that medical is done and if it’s passed, all that’s left will be for him to literally put pen to paper and do his media duties for the Premier League champions.

It could be something that’s announced this evening so if you want to be the first to react to Phillips going on social media, we’d suggest you turn on the notifications.

Phillips’ exit is a sad one.

It’s never nice to see a fan favourite leave but when that fan favourite is going down as a club legend, it’s a sickening blow.

Leeds are worse off without Phillips and we feel as though it’ll be impossible for Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch to replace him with someone who’s just as good.

Phillips is one of a kind and Leeds are way worse off without him.

However, we cannot hold him back and that wouldn’t be fair.

Good luck, Kalvin.

You’ll always be the Yorkshire Pirlo.
