Noah Okafor has booked his medical at Leeds United as he closes in on a move to Elland Road.

The Peacocks have been hunting for a winger all summer, but now they are about to land their man.

Leeds were determined to secure Igor Paixao, but in the end, the Brazilian opted for a move to Marseille.

However, Okafor has given his full commitment to the Elland Road club and will soon be in Daniel Farke's squad, joining from AC Milan.

Leeds United close in on Noah Okafor transfer

Manor Solomon was instrumental on the left wing for Leeds last season, securing the Championship title on the final day.

Filling the void left by the 26-year-old has proved tough, so much so that Jack Harrison has even reentered the fold.

However, now the Yorkshire club have their solution as Okafor edges ever closer to an Elland Road move.

  • Solomon returned to Tottenham following his loan
  • Paixao seemed to be heading to Elland Road, but signed for Marseille
  • Now, Okafor is set to sign for Leeds

The Peacocks will spend slightly higher than £17.3million for the Swiss international, according to Sacha Tavolieri on 19 August.

Furthermore, Okafor's medical tests are booked for Wednesday morning, 20 August, as he swaps Italy for England.

Last season, the winger managed three goal contributions in all competitions, but his minutes were hampered by injury at Milan and Napoli.

What does Noah Okafor signing mean for Willy Gnonto and Jack Harrison?

Gnonto started on the left for Leeds in their opening day 1-0 victory over Everton and put in a respectable performance.

However, the Italian has mainly featured as a right-sided player for the Whites and will likely be utilised flexibly by Farke.

As for Harrison, he is perhaps the biggest loser from the Okafor deal, as he will play second fiddle to the 25-year-old.

During pre-season, Harrison received an icy reception from some Leeds supporters, although he was cheered by some of his contingent in Dublin.

However, it would have been quite a shock if he returned from Everton to become Farke's first choice in the Premier League.

  • Gnonto started on the left against Everton
  • Harrison came on as a substitute
  • Okafor is now expected to play on the left

With Okafor set to join the Elland Road club, he will be expected to slot straight in on the left for Leeds.
