Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser should not have issues in passing his Leeds United medical despite a previous hamstring tear, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert, having examined his fitness history, asserts that the 29-year-old Scotland international's record has been clean since he suffered a Grade 2 tear.

According to The Shields Gazette on July 20, the Whites were plotting moves to sign both Fraser and Karl Darlow from the now Champions League side Newcastle and have already secured a deal for the latter this summer.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Fraser, "He suffered a Grade 2 hamstring injury which is considered a moderate tear.

"Although not that serious, these can be troublesome for outfield players like Fraser because those positions involve more bursts and change of direction which stresses the hamstring, often leading to reinjury.

"However, his injury record has been pretty clean since then which means he’s likely out of the thick of that risk window and should pass his medical."

Thus far, Leeds have just signed two first-team players this summer in Darlow and Ethan Ampadu.

Daniel Farke has stressed the need to make more signings and it remains to be seen if Fraser is prioritised.

Leeds lost Rodrigo and Brenden Aaronson in the attacking positions this summer but Dan James has returned from loan and they may prioritise a number nine instead of Fraser.
