Max Wober transfer update as moves to Germany and the Premier League mooted
Leeds United defender Max Wober has opt-out clauses in his contract either as a loan deal or for permanent sale, but the package to buy him is not cheap, according to Peter Linden.
It has been claimed that Wober, who joined the Yorkshire side from RB Salzburg in January, has a couple of opt-out clauses in his contract, which were included as Leeds already feared they may face relegation from the Premier League – which turned out to come true.
A move following fellow defender Robin Koch to Germany was mooted by Linden, as well as suggestions that the Austrian defender could remain in England with a move to the Premier League, as he impressed during his 16 appearances for Leeds.

As the defender is under a lucrative contract with Leeds United, claimed as the best of his career, any deal to get him out of the club would prove to be expensive.
Unless the deal is right, keep Wober at Elland Road
Leeds United should do all they can to keep Wober at Elland Road this season as they fight to gain promotion straight back to the Premier League, after Leeds Live [6 July] reported he is happy to stay at the club.
If the club receive a sizeable offer for the defender, who is valued at around £12million according to Linden, then of course he should be allowed to leave as they could reinvest that money into the squad, especially if it is an offer that would benefit the club as well as the player.

However, should an offer of that sort not arrive, it would be important for Leeds to hang on to Wober and avoid losing more first-team stars than is absolutely necessary.
Wober is an example of a player who is definitely too good for the Championship. He joined the club largely due to the pre-existed relationship with former manager Jesse Marsch, at a time when he could have had his pick from several clubs across Europe.
In other Leeds United news, another star could be set to follow Rodrigo out the door.
