Max Wober exit news as Borussia Monchengladbach take matters into own hands to sign Leeds United star
Leeds United defender Max Wober looks set for a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, as the club have decided to take matters into their own hands, according to Kicker.
The German news outlet reported on 27 July that Wober is close to moving to the Bundesliga side, and it will be completed regardless of the outgoing Nico Elvedi, with Monchengladbach deciding not to wait for the Wolverhampton Wanderers-linked player to leave.
The deal agreed for Wober has been described as a “perfect commitment”, with the defender set for a move to the Bundesliga just six months after joining Leeds United from RB Salzburg while former boss Jesse Marsch was at the helm.

Leeds United exodus continues
The mass exodus of star players from Leeds United is set to continue, with Wober the latest name to be shown the exit door at Elland Road, following both Robin Koch and Brenden Aaronson in a move to the Bundesliga.
The club have struggled to keep hold of their key players following their relegation from the Premier League, after relegation clauses were inserted into many of their contracts, leaving the club powerless to deal with incoming approaches.

Wober was reportedly a name the club felt they could convince to stay at Elland Road in the upcoming season, but developments moved quickly after Daniel Farke confirmed he was in talks over a transfer move after he missed the friendly defeat to Monaco.
Initial reports surrounding this transfer listed Wober as a direct replacement to Elvedi, with his left-footedness and ability to play at centre-back or left-back, with Monchengladbach moving to get the deal over the line before the outgoing player leaves.
In other Leeds United news, one star player could be set to stay at Leeds this year despite recent developments.
