Mateo Joseph exit stalls in Leeds United transfer twist
Mateo Joseph has been strongly linked with a Leeds United exit.
The Spain under-21 international ultimately played a bit part role as the Whites were promoted from the Championship with 100 points.
This came despite starting the campaign as the starting number nine under Daniel Farke, before being replaced in the side by Joel Piroe.
As a result, a departure always appeared to be a possibility for the 21-year-old, but now talks have stalled at this early stage of the window.

Joseph stalls in Leeds United exit talks
There is no doubt about how much ability the young forward possesses, and there is still hope that he can showcase that at Elland Road moving forward.
Coming up to the Premier League could either prove to be the making of the Spaniard or prove to be a further downfall after a frustrating year in the second tier.
With that being said, the ex-Espanyol talent could be on the move before having the chance to show his talents in the elite division next season.
This comes after Real Betis have shown a keen interest in Joseph as the Europa Conference League finalists look to strengthen their squad.
Although at one point a deal may have looked increasingly likely with the LaLiga side, it now appears that a summer move is on ice.
Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla have reported (1 July, page 51) that talks have stalled after weeks of negotiations as a transfer fee is yet to be agreed.
The Leeds striker is still seen as a target for the Green and Whites, but right now, it appears that a stand-off over an agreement is well underway.

Joseph could now stay at Leeds United
It does feel likely, as things stand, that Piroe is going to begin the campaign as the main striker option at Elland Road.
This comes after picking up the Championship golden boot and putting in a string of excellent performances with his 19 goals.
Stat | Mateo Joseph | Joel Piroe |
Appearances | 39 | 46 |
Goals | 3 | 19 |
Assists | 3 | 7 |
By comparison, Joseph only grabbed three in LS11 and, as a result, would represent a risk as a starter in the Premier League.
The youngster is likely to command a role in the squad ahead of the likes of Patrick Bamford, that is, unless he opts to depart for Betis this summer.
