Mateo Joseph dumped from training ahead of potential Leeds move
Leeds United are getting closer by the day to confirming a deal to sign Espanyol sensation Mateo Joseph in January.
The Spanish club also appears to have accepted that fact, with Grada3 reporting he has now been dumped from training.
The 17-year-old is said to have rejected a new contract at Espanyol, who have since kicked him away from first-team training.
Things appear to be getting worst as his exit nears, though.
AS have added to the previous story by repotting that Joseph is also forced to sit in the stands and watch games upon their request.
It is said that a fee of close to £850,000 will get the deal done as he closes in on a move to the Premier League in January.
Despite his contract expiring at the end of this season, AS also claim that there is no chance of Joseph moving to Elland Road for free.
Andrea Radrizzani has transformed the Leeds academy back to the glory days since arriving, and this is another signing that will improve the standard.
After bringing back category one status and entering the Premier League level, signings such as Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh, Sam Greenwood and Lewis Bate were all big statements.
This could be the biggest one yet, though.
Joseph is said to have been tracked by Manchester City, Barcelona and Liverpool to name some of the clubs, but it looks as though Victor Orta has worked his magic yet again.
Leeds have made their move early, and it appears to have paid off with Joseph set to arrive at Thorp Arch in the January window.
