Martin Baturina to Leeds United transfer development emerges after £26m offer

Leeds United have expressed interest in a late move for Como attacking-midfielder Martin Baturina in the winter transfer window.

The Whites are ready to pay around £26million plus bonuses to get a deal over the line for the 15-cap Croatia international who has scored three goals and provided two assists in 13 Serie A appearances this season.

Baturina has been linked with a move to Elland Road despite only signing for the Italian club last summer from Dinamo Zagreb.

Daniel Farke has already signed Facundo Buonanotte, who was struggling for minutes at Chelsea, and the 22-year-old Croatian is going through a similar situation under Cesc Fabregas.

Como reject Leeds United offer for Martin Baturina

Leeds have failed to reach an agreement with Como to sign Baturina, according to Tuttosport via Tuttomercatoweb.

The news outlet reports on 22 January that the Serie A outfit have rebuffed the offer they’ve received from Elland Road for the versatile attacker.

There have been no suggestions of a counteroffer, and it looks like the Italian club has no intention of parting ways with the Croatian they spent around £21.7m on.

The Peacocks already have several quality attacking options at their disposal, but it looks like they want to add more depth with the likes of Baturina.

Farke has all but guaranteed Premier League survival in LS11 after an impressive run of form, losing just one of their nine league matches, and the future seems bright for the German head coach, whose job was under threat just a few months back.

Daniel Farke to revive Elland Road transfer after Martin Baturina snub

Baturina has been heavily linked with a move to Elland Road, but it doesn’t look like the move will happen anytime soon.

It seems like Farke wants more creativity in the final third, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few more signings come through the door in LS11 before the 2 February deadline.

Vargas’ stats in LaLiga this season, as per Sofascore

Sevilla forward Ruben Vargas’s injury issues have raised concerns at Leeds, who have been keeping an eye on the Switzerland international.

The 27-year-old has three goals and four assists in 13 LaLiga matches this season, and the West Yorkshire outfit may revive their interest once he returns from the sidelines.
