Marc Roca to be announced next as Leeds United transfer news emerges
Leeds United are set to part ways with Marc Roca next who is on the verge of being announced as a Real Betis player, according to Gonzalo Tortosa.
Writing on X, the El Chiringuito journalist said that Roca could be the Spanish club’s second summer signing after they secured the services of Romain Perraud from Southampton.
Roca joined Betis on loan last summer after the Whites were relegated to the Championship, with a clause in his contract permitting him to depart.
It has been previously reported that Leeds and Betis have agreed on another loan deal ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, but the Spanish club is now closing in to secure a permanent transfer for Roca.
Roca’s permanent transfer might be a necessity for Leeds United
Roca became a crucial member of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad at Betis last season, making 26 appearances in La Liga.
Despite dealing with injury and fitness setbacks that limited his playtime, his performances impressed the club enough to seek a permanent transfer.
Leeds initially demanded up to £6.7 million for the Spaniard, but Betis are now hopeful of negotiating a deal closer to £4.2 million.
Although Roca is under contract with Leeds until 2026, his future appears to be elsewhere.
Leeds need to generate funds during this transfer window to alleviate their financial strain after failing to get promoted to the Premier League, meaning that Roca’s permanent transfer could be necessary.

Roca joined Leeds in the summer of 2022 from Bayern Munich for a fee of around £10 million, and the club faces a significant loss if the sale proceeds.
He made 32 Premier League appearances for Leeds before going on loan to Betis last year.
In other Leeds news, one Sky Sports pundit has mooted a £30m exit from Elland Road with Aston Villa to make their move.
