Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has bought a house in Seville after Real Betis agreed to an extension to his season-long loan, according to El Des Marque.

The Spanish outlet reported that Betis and parent club Leeds have signed off on a second consecutive loan deal already with everything agreed.

Roca was one of the first players to temporarily depart Elland Road following relegation to the Championship last summer and was keen to continue his stay in Seville.

Phil Hay of the Athletic shared last week that two players - one being Jack Harrison - were able to head out on loan again due to Leeds' loss in the Championship play-off final, and speculation over whether one of them was Roca has seemingly been confirmed by his latest move.

Marc Roca move marks the end of the line at Leeds United

Roca returning to Elland Road this summer always looked to be a difficult sell, particularly given his poor form in the Whites' relegation before jumping ship to La Liga as soon as possible.

The news that Betis want to keep the midfielder in their plans for next season is somewhat positive for Leeds, but an extension on the loan clause which allowed him to leave for nothing in 2023 is a sting in the tail.

Marc Roca signed on loan for Real Betis weeks prior to the start of Leeds United's Championship season.

If reports that only Roca and the aforementioned Harrison can re-activate loan clauses this time around is true, that'll mean a whole host of familiar faces are otherwise set to pitch up at Thorp Arch in the coming weeks.

Diego Llorente is wanted once again by Roma [Gianluca DiMarzio], but significant question marks hang over the Elland Road futures of Brendan Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Max Wober.

For Roca though, Leeds' failure to gain promotion leaves him holding the cards - cards he's used to confirm his intention to remain in Spain by buying a house and agreeing to a second consecutive year on loan and make clear his intention of playing no part in the new season's promotion bid.
