‘Zero chance’, ‘Rather retire’, ‘Doubt it’ – Many Derby fans react to Leeds transfer report
Leeds United have been linked with a move for Derby County playmaker Louie Sibley on Monday.
Athletic journalist Ryan Conway reported that the Whites have made their interest known regarding the Rams breakthrough talent.
Conway claimed that the interest wasn’t too intense, although other reports have suggested otherwise throughout the day.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Leeds have made a string of enquiries for the 19-year-old, although the outcome of those wasn’t made clear.
Victor Orta did confirm that he had been keeping track of Sibley, although any deal between Leeds and the Rams could be difficult.
“We know them really well, their clubs were our rivals,” he told the YEP.
“It’s difficult. They are players we analysed, we have information and then we need to think about the possibility.”
With the deadline for any transfers only four days away, Derby will likely drive a hard bargain and Orta’s comments prove it could be highly unlikely.
Leeds fans were outraged at Sibley last season after the youngster was spotted ignoring the walk of honour at Pride Park on that famous day.
Many Derby fans have reacted to the links between Leeds and Sibley, and they haven’t taken the news well as some would expect.
The majority claimed there would be no chance of the youngster moving to Elland Road, one even believes he would rather retire – we highly doubt that.
