Manor Solomon rejects rival bid as Leeds United medical booked ahead of Tottenham exit

Manor Solomon is leaving Tottenham for Leeds United and will have a medical on Saturday 24 August, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer journalist reported via X late on 23 August that the Israeli had rejected a rival bid from Getafe and his Whites switch was now in the “final stages”.

Spurs-linked agent Paul O Keefe reported the same evening that the 25-year-old is “on the verge” of moving to Elland Road, where he will join former North London teammate Joe Rodon following the Welsh defender’s £10million move earlier this summer [Romano, 2 July].

Romano added: “Manor Solomon set for medical tests at Leeds United on Saturday. He’s leaving Spurs after rejecting bid from Getafe as England has always been his priority. Deal at final stages with LUFC.”

Manor Solomon to follow Joe Rodon to Leeds United

There have been plenty of links between Leeds and Spurs this summer after the latter started the exodus of stars by signing homegrown midfielder Archie Gray.

That was the first of a trio of exit clauses being triggered that saw top talent leave Elland Road, with Crysencio Summerville going to West Ham and Georginio Rutter to Brighton.

Why the club have largely waited until this late in the window to fill the gaps that were left behind only they will know but after securing Largie Ramazani from Almeria on 22 August another quick deal for Solomon suggests the Whites recruitment department has finally woken up again.

Daniel Farke was believed to have a strong interest in signing his former Norwich loanee Oliver Skipp from Spurs as well this summer [GiveMeSport, 1 July], but he has now moved to Leicester in a deal worth north of £20million [Sky Sports, 19 August].

If Solomon completes his medical successfully and signs the Leeds boss is believed to still want another new midfielder and a full-back [The Athletic, 16 August].

Joe Rothwell has come in from Bournemouth on loan but a direct replacement for Glen Kamara has been on the cards since the Finn’s exit to Rennes [Leeds Live, 13 July].

Jayden Bogle was bought from Sheffield United, but Farke has lost starting right-back Gray, Burnley loanee Connor Roberts, and versatile reserve option Jamie Shackleton this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are also set to enter talks to sign a midfielder who is the top passer in his league before the deadline.
