Manchester City make contact with Leeds United to sign academy sensation Finlay Gorman

Manchester City have made contact with Leeds United about signing 15-year-old academy sensation Finlay Gorman, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Gorman has become a viral sensation on social media after clips emerged of him playing for the Elland Road Under-18’s despite his young age, with fantastic footwork.

And his talent is well known across the country, with Manchester City now making a move to sign the talented forward as part of their recruitment drive to snap up the best young talent.

“The YEP understands City have made contact with Leeds regarding the 15-year-old, who is believed to be one of United’s premier academy prospects in recent years,” they wrote.

Oh no

Leeds fans have no doubt been waiting for this type of news to pop up because of just how good Gorman is being tipped to be.

At 14-years-old he is already a regular for the Leeds Under-18’s team and has played for England at Under-16 level too, showing just how advanced he is for his age.

Manchester City are known to be one of the biggest clubs in the world these days and after winning the treble last year, they simply have never been more attractive to players who could join them.

However Gorman will surely have seen the development of Archie Gray at the club in recent months and know that if he continues to develop the way he has, that there is a clear pathway for him to be a regular at Elland Road.

Manchester City have an abundance of talent and millions ahead of him and it could see his development stagnate if he doesn’t get to play regularly, but the lure of that club is obvious. Leeds have to try to hold on to him, but it would be hard to begrudge him that opportunity.
