Atlas striker Julian Quinones has reportedly been offered to Leeds United but is unlikely to leave the club this summer.

According to Colombian media outlet El Informador (July 30, page 13), the 25-year-old is set to stay put at the club and the fans do not have any reason to worry over his future.

He was targeted by Liga MX rivals in the January window as well but he decided to stay put then and will be doing the same thing now.

Blessing in disguise

Leeds are in no position to be taking punts on unproven players from South America and they must steer clear of this one.

At 25, he is yet to make an international cap and is still to be proven in one of Europe's top five leagues.

He may be having decent numbers in Liga MX but it's not like he's tearing the division apart and a number of sides are taking note of him.

The Whites have to look for proven goal scorers from La Liga, Bundesliga or even Ligue 1 rather than going for someone from the Americas.

The game there is at a very low level and it would've made sense if they were in the Championship.

However, if they want someone to lead the line for them in the Premier League then they definitely need to look at other options.
