Luke Ayling ‘likely’ to be offered new Leeds United deal, Leif Davis could leave
Luke Ayling is ‘likely’ to be offered a new Leeds United contract before his deal expires next summer, but Leif Davis could leave during this window.
That’s according to LeedsLive [June 1] who have been running the rule over the Whites’ squad ahead of the transfer window officially opening on June 10th.
Key defender Ayling is entering the final 12 months of his contract and is now in his 30’s, but he has been a vital part of Jesse Marsch’s squad since taking over and the expectation is that he will be offered a new short-term deal between now and the end of next season.

As for young defender Davis who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, he is expected to be moved on during this current window after not fulfilling his potential at the club.
Davis has made just 14 appearances for the club since joining in 2018 and with a new left-sided defender wanted during this window, his Elland Road career will likely come to an end should an offer come in for him.
No surprises
Ayling has been an incredibly important part of the Leeds side that have been in the Premier League over the last two seasons, despite his rocky ending to the last campaign.
He’ll turn 31 shortly after the new season starts though and the club have to think carefully about how they shape their squad for the future, so a short-term contract would make sense.

As for Davis, you’d be forgiven for forgetting he was even still a Leeds player considering how poorly his Whites career has gone to date.
He made as many appearances for Bournemouth as he’s made for Leeds over the last four years and that’s a sign that he doesn’t have a future at Elland Road.
It makes sense for all parties to cut ties and go separate ways now, and focus on the new generation of youth at the club to give them an opportunity to make it.
