Luis Sinisterra wanted by Everton as Wilfried Gnonto Leeds United exit collapses

Luis Sinisterra has emerged as a fresh target for Everton after talks with Leeds saw a move for Wilfried Gnonto collapse, report FootballTransfers.

Writing on their official website (23 August), the news outlet reported that talks on Monday between the clubs left a move for the Italy international as “unlikely” and the Toffees now are looking at alternative targets.

Those include Elland Road’s own Colombian international Sinisterra, who also wants to leave the club following relegation and hasn’t been training with the first-team after asking to sit out games.

“It is not clear whether Everton will decide to come back in after talks [for Gnonto] reached an impasse, but the side are now in the process of considering other options, such as Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven and Luis Sinisterra, also at Leeds,” they wrote.

Leave us alone

Do Everton know that there are other clubs that have other players they can sign, or do they think it’s just Leeds?

This summer they have already taken Jack Harrison from us on a season-long loan despite him being injured, been linked with a move for Tyler Adams and Rodrigo unsuccessfully and have actively pursued Gnonto all summer too.

Now they want Sinisterra for their winger position, but this seems like one that could potentially happen if they stump up the cash.

The player’s release clause expired earlier this month but much like Tyler Adams the club are likely to be open to his sale if a big offer arrives because it would allow us to reinvest the money in the squad and get rid of an unhappy player in the process.

It will be interesting to see how this one develops in the coming days with the deadline so close, but with Sinisterra not involved in the squad for now it could potentially move quickly.
