Lucas Perri set for Leeds United redemption after Sky Sports transfer latest
Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri has been linked with a move away in the winter transfer window after losing his place to Karl Darlow.
Besiktas had Perri on their shortlist, but the Whites rejected an approach from the Super Lig club for the shot-stopper.
Darlow had a game to forget against Arsenal in the Premier League on 31 January, with the West Yorkshire outfit losing 4-0 at home to the league leaders.
The Wales international’s Sofascore stats, compared with Perri’s, show he’s let in more goals than expected this season despite fewer appearances, leaving Daniel Farke with a significant dilemma.

Lucas Perri will get chance to displace Karl Darlow at Leeds United
Perri will be staying at Leeds amid interest from elsewhere in January, according to Tom White.
The Sky Sports reporter revealed that, while there have been question marks around the goalkeeping situation at Elland Road, the Brazilian shot-stopper is going nowhere for now.
After Darlow’s recent display, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the former Olympique Lyon star come straight back into the team against Nottingham Forest and get a shot at redemption.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on 2 February, White said, “There have been questions over the goalkeeper this season. Lucas Perri, who was linked with a move, is staying. He’s going to be given opportunities to win back his place from Karl Darlow, who’s currently the number one. And they’re not going to go for a striker because of the form and fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.”
Farke isn’t expecting any signings at Elland Road before the 7pm deadline after the West Yorkshire outfit failed to sign Jorgen Stand Larsen from Wolves.
The Norwegian centre-forward is on his way to Crystal Palace after completing a medical.
Daniel Farke to reject new offer for player at Elland Road
Besiktas have now identified Illan Meslier as a target, with negotiations taking place for the French goalkeeper.
The 25-year-old has effectively been relegated to third-choice shot-stopper at Leeds this season, and it isn’t surprising to see him being linked with an exit.

However, it would make sense to keep Meslier until the end of the campaign, given Perri and Darlow’s recent performances.
The former Lorient ace might be in for some surprise opportunities in the coming weeks if the goalkeeping situation doesn’t improve in LS11.
