Lucas Perri has faced a bumpy ride since joining Leeds United last summer.

The Brazilian came in a year ago and looked ready to be the number one under Daniel Farke.

Things didn't truly work out in the early stages of the season as frustration swirled around the 28-year-old.

That saw him limited to just 16 Premier League appearances as he largely became famed for his role in the FA Cup.

He is now looking ahead to his second season at Elland Road, but could face an up-and-down summer before it begins.

Perri could be proven right at Leeds as his future looks to be more secure than it once did.

Lucas Perri philosophy comes good at Leeds United

There were massive questions hanging over the keeper in his debut campaign in the Premier League.

He may not have made a statistical error that led to a goal, but he did concede 29 goals at an average of 1.8 per 90.

That just isn't good enough and prompted him to be replaced as number one by Karl Darlow.

Perri did still manage to show some form in the FA Cup, with his quarter-final showing against West Ham being one of his best.

That prompted him to take to Instagram in April to share a philosophical motivational quote that translates to "Fortune favors the brave".

It reads: "Not the reckless. Not the loud. But the one who moves forward despite the fear, he who holds the line when it would be easier to run.

"He asks for no reward - only to do what must be done and to remain unbroken." He then wrote "pray and work" with a praying hands emoji."

That sort of attitude looks set to serve him well as he appears to have foreseen a world where he could once again become Leeds' number one.

Why Karl Darlow is sacrificing more than just his club career after silly Leeds exit

Is Perri ready to replace Karl Darlow for Leeds?

The Whites are going to be little choice but to assess their goalkeeper options this summer.

Illan Meslier has departed and bizarrely joined Arsenal, while Darlow's future remained up in the air.

The saga surrounding the Wales international now looks set to end with a controversial move to Manchester United.

That will leave Leeds two keepers down, with Perri remaining and potentially set to be the go-to man.

The Brazilian is seemingly ready to take his chance when it comes if his social media is anything to go by.

It will just be a question of whether Farke can rely on him moving forward into the new Premier League campaign.
