Lucas Perri finally looks set to complete his exit from Leeds United this summer.

The Brazilian only made the switch to Elland Road from Lyon 12 months ago, in a deal worth over £15million.

However, Perri endured a difficult first campaign at Elland Road and lost his place in the team to Karl Darlow.

Darlow has now moved on to Manchester United, but Leeds completed the club-record signing of James Trafford from Manchester City.

With Trafford now certain to be number one, and Leeds on the lookout for more cover, Perri's time in West Yorkshire has long-since looked like coming to an end.

And now, it looks as though news of his departure will be confirmed in the very near future after a new update on Thursday.

Who has won the race for Leeds United ace Lucas Perri?

Perri may have had his struggles at Leeds, but he has still had plenty of suitors.

However, it looks as though Serie A side Torino, who have been tracking him all summer, have won the race for his signature.

Ligue 1 outfit Marseille had also been linked with a move for the 28-year-old, but Perri looks like he is headed to Italy after

Fabrizio Romano reported on X that Torino have completed a deal with Leeds for a loan with an option to buy deal.

He added that the Whites have granted permission for Perri to travel and complete his exit from Elland Road.

Fellow journalist Matteo Moretto added: "Lucas Perri to Torino; signing imminent," while Gianluca Di Marzio wrote that the deal is "nearing completion".

Who will Leeds get to replace Lucas Perri?

Trafford's arrival certainly solved a huge problem in goal for Leeds.

But even after his big-money arrival from Manchester City, Leeds were still in need of more goalkeeper cover.

Several names have been linked, but it looks as though Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer will be brought in to act as deputy to Trafford.

The Bundesliga side were said to be holding out until they had their own replacement for the 31-year-old.

But it was reported earlier on Thursday by Florian Plettenberg that they have struck a deal to sign Freiburg stopper Noah Atubolu.
