Lucas Perri exit looks 24 hours away at Leeds United as out-of-window transfer on

Lucas Perri could leave Leeds United before the end of Wednesday.

The 28-year-old only joined Leeds in July in a deal worth a reported £15.6million with French side Lyon.

However, Perri has lost his place as Leeds number one to Karl Darlow of late and has been linked with numerous clubs.

While the winter transfer window may have closed for Leeds on Monday in terms of incoming business, a pathway may just have opened up for Perri to leave Elland Road.

Besiktas to decide between Lucas Perri and Illan Meslier

News emerged on Tuesday that Illan Meslier is wanted by Turkish heavyweights Besiktas.

Meslier is now third choice at Leeds behind Perri and Darlow, although Daniel Farke is not fully won over by any of the three.

As highlighted by the Sofascore graphic further down, Darlow has made more saves on average per game than Perri, though Leeds concede more goals when he is between the sticks.

However, it has now been reported by Turkish journalist Tugba Hacibayramoglu, who has over 18,000 followers on X, that Perri is also wanted by Besiktas.

Besiktas accept that Filip Jorgensen will not be joining from Chelsea, but they want a goalkeeper signed in the next 24 hours.

Meslier and Perri are the two names on the Super Lig side’s wishlist, but time is ticking to push through a move for either of the two.

While Besiktas may want a deal done for a new goalkeeper by Wednesday evening, they officially have until Friday to conduct business.

Perri could deny Leeds teammate Meslier for a second time

Meslier was once again a regular for Leeds last season, but he was never truly convincing despite a high number of clean sheets.

That forced Farke and Leeds into the market in the summer, with Perri considered a smart purchase for the Whites’ return to the top flight.

But the former Brazil Under-23s international has himself struggled to assert any confidence at the back for Leeds.

If it is a straight choice between Perri and Meslier, however, then it will surely be the former who is chosen by Besiktas.

Meslier would not need telling of the irony of that situation playing out, as it would mean he remains stuck on the bench at Elland Road for another six months.
