Liverpool transfer news as Calvin Ramsay news expected for Leeds United from Anfield

Leeds United are interested in a January loan move for Liverpool full-back Calvin Ramsay, with a decision to be made on his future at Anfield soon, according to Mail Plus.

As reported via their website on 22 January, the key to any move for Rasmay would be a guarantee of playing time, as with the loan of Fabio Carvalho to Hull City.

It is also said that other Championship sides are monitoring a possible move for Ramsay, having returned to Liverpool from a loan spell with Preston North End.

Leeds must get ahead of the queue

With Leeds the only club named as being interested in Ramsay, it would be suggested that the club are at the front of the queue to secure his signature on loan for the second half of the season, and they must ensure that’s where they stand for this deal.

A right-back is one of Leeds’ priorities in the January transfer window after Luke Ayling departed, with a natural central-midfield player in Archie Gray becoming the first choice for the position.

As well as the 17-year-old has coped with the change of role, a natural right-back would undoubtedly improve Daniel Farke’s side, and Ramsay provides an interesting option if Leeds can take him on loan for the business end of the season to support their promotion push.

They must ensure they are at the front of the queue should Liverpool decide to make him available in the next week, with just over one week left of the window to get the deal over the line and bring Ramsay to Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, official contact has been made with another right-back.
