Leeds want to sign new playmaker as Manor Solomon transfer news emerges
Leeds United are already preparing summer transfers if they’re successful in winning promotion to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s side remain in the Championship’s automatic promotion places despite being winless in their last two matches, and have a chance to return to the summit by beating Millwall on Wednesday.
With the opportunity to re-open a four-point cushion in the top two against Millwall at Elland Road, Leeds still have the Premier League in their sights with just 10 matches of the regular season remaining.
As a result, decision-makers at Elland Road are starting to prepare for a return to the top-flight after two years away, and that will mean plenty of activity and incoming players to LS11 in the transfer window.

Leeds United make position clear on two transfer targets
Farke and the higher-ups at Elland Road have several decisions to make on the existing Leeds squad this summer before even looking at additions, including the futures of their two Premier League loanees.
Manor Solomon is likely to be more in-demand than Joe Rothwell, and while the likes of Southampton striker Cameron Archer are also targets for Leeds, Ben Jacobs has outlined what their priority will be.
Player | Club | Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists |
Manor Solomon | Leeds United | 29 | 20 | 7 | 7 |
Cameron Archer | Southampton | 25 | 11 | 2 | 0 |
Speaking to GiveMeSport (11 March), the talkSPORT journalist said: “The priority is to get promotion and then assess what targets are possible.
“Leeds are more focused on finding a playmaker and trying to buy Manor Solomon, while Cameron Archer remains on their radar.”

Solomon and Archer decision a no-brainer for Leeds United
Leeds hoping to keep Solomon in the fold next season – if promoted – is understandable, given the Israel wideman has managed seven goals and assists apiece in his 29 Championship appearances so far.
If the Whites do return to the Premier League, they’re set to face competition for Solomon’s signature from fellow top-flight sides, but the same can’t be said for the soon-to-be-relegated Archer at Saints.
Southampton’s plight this term, after beating Leeds in last season’s play-off final, has seen them win just nine points, with Archer scoring just two goals in 25 appearances for a side sat rock-bottom of the table.
Having been relegated previously with Norwich City, Farke knows all too well that Leeds need more than that kind of output if they’re to survive next season, and while Solomon’s permanent signature is a must, Archer’s is one best avoided with much better playmaking and striker options on the open market.
