Leeds want to re-sign Kalvin Phillips as surgery update emerges from Man City
Leeds United are aiming to reinforce their midfield this summer, ready for their return to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s side have been linked with numerous central midfielders as the Peacocks look to dramatically increase the quality in their starting XI.
Gus Hamer is strongly linked with a move to Leeds after Sheffield United failed to win the Championship play-offs.
On top of this, Mateus Fernandes could move to Elland Road now that Southampton have been relegated from the English top-flight.
Now, the latest player to be linked with a Leeds United return is Kalvin Phillips.

Leeds United aim to re-sign Kalvin Phillips after he recovers from shoulder surgery
Phillips was a key part of Leeds United’s squad during their last stay in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old is a product of the Peacocks’ academy and helped the Yorkshire club win promotion back in 2020.
After two successful seasons in the top-flight at Leeds, he was sold to Manchester City in 2022 where he earns an eye-watering £150k a week according to The Sun (21 October 2023).
However, he has been unable to replicate his previous good form in Manchester and has struggled to break into the first team.

Now, after a failed loan spell at Ipswich Town, the midfielder is linked with a return to Elland Road.
According to the Mail on Sunday, page 89 (1 June), Leeds want Phillips back from Man City after he recovers from his shoulder surgery.

Leeds must avoid Phillips this summer
Phillips’ loan spell at Ipswich Town this summer proved that he is no longer a top midfielder.
The 29-year-old struggled at Portman Road, and only made 22 appearances before they were relegated from the top-flight.
With Leeds set for a difficult battle for survival, they cannot afford sentimental signings such as Phillips, who would likely be a passenger.
Hopefully, Farke looks at other potential targets and avoids a move for the former England international.
