Leeds United want to sign Roland Sallai after Manor Solomon arrives from Tottenham

Leeds United are considering their options in regard to a bid for Roland Sallai before the transfer window closes, according to Adam Leventhal.

The Athletic journalist reported via X on 26 August that the Whites are interested in signing the Hungary international who has one year left on his contract, but have yet to make a formal offer.

Sallai has scored 13 goals in 52 caps for his country would add another wide option after the signing of Largie Ramazani from Almeria.

The Freiberg winger would also follow Manor Solomon in at Elland Road with the Tottenham attacker’s loan deal expected to be confirmed on 27 August [David Ornstein, 26 August].

The Whites better not spend too long considering a bid if they want to add Sallai to the attacking unit along with Ramazani and Solomon.

There are only a few days left before the transfer window shuts and since he is into the final year of his contract he is bound to be snapped up elsewhere if they don’t move quickly.

Once Georginio Rutter became the latest key man to leave when he joined Brighton Daniel Farke wanted four players in before the deadline [The Athletic, 16 August].

That only included two attackers, to replace the departed Frenchman and Championship Player of the Season Crysencio Summerville, along with a full-back and a midfielder.

But Jaidon Anthony has also gone from last term after his loan from Bournemouth so a further wide option wouldn’t go amiss if they can pick up Sallai for a cut price, while Brenden Aaronson is back in the squad after his loan at Union Berlin.

The Whites are scrambling to get key incoming business done in the final days of the window, in a seemingly needless echo of last summer.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are lining up a possible replacement for Patrick Bamford before the transfer window shuts.
