Leeds United want to sign Europa League dazzler Joyskim Dawa as £4m transfer news emerges
Leeds United are “keeping tabs” on Steaua Bucharest centre-back Joyskim Dawa following his impressive Europa League performances this season, according to the Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their website on 13 October that scouts from numerous English clubs watched the Cameroon international put in a man-of-the-match display after Bucharest won PAOK 1-0 in the Europa League on 3 October.
It is understood that the defender has a release clause worth around £4million in his contract.
However, Leeds will have to act fast if they wish to acquire his services as Everton, Fulham, Leicester and Burnley have all also shown an interest in the centre-back.
Leeds United need defensive reinforcement in the transfer window
Leeds’ season has hit a snag over the last few weeks, as, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev now find themselves sidelined for extended periods.
The Whites’ next nine or so weeks without the Welshman [Yorkshire Evening Post, 30 September] have caused all sorts of solutions to be thought up with former Premier League ace Cheikhou Kouyate being “strongly considered” to plug the gap for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Many expected Leeds to lack depth as the season went on, but nobody could have expected things to go south this early.

While Dawa might not be a household name, the fact he’s been a regular starter for Bucharest over the last three seasons as well as the fact he’s managed to hold his own in the Europa League seem to make a transfer make sense.
For a fee of £4million too, it feels as if it is a no-brainer for Leeds to at least explore the option of signing him in January.
