Leeds United want to sign Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel
Leeds United are targeting an ambitious move for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel, who was once dubbed the next Manuel Neuer, with Bayern willing to sell this summer, according to BILD.
Nubel has two offers this summer, according to the report in BILD, one from Stuttgart in Germany who have offered a loan deal, and one from Leeds United who would prefer to bring him in permanently. Bayern would prefer to sell him permanently rather than let him leave on another loan deal.
It has been shared that the goalkeeper is valued at £6.8million, with two years left on his current contract, and a decision about his future should be made before Stuttgart start their pre-season training camp on 17 July.

Nubel made 38 appearances in Ligue 1 with Monaco where he spent last season on loan, keeping 9 clean sheets across those games.
This would be a fantastic deal
This deal would be a brilliant one for Leeds United. While Nubel may not have hit the lofty heights once expected of him when Bayern signed him as a future successor to legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, he is still only 26 years old and has room to grow.
Leeds will be looking for a goalkeeper this summer as their current number one Illan Meslier is expected to leave the club, despite no movement on the transfer front so far with him.

The Yorkshire side also look to have more than one incentive that would put them ahead in the race for his signature. They are offering a permanent transfer for the player (and an affordable one for the club at that) which is Bayern’s preferred option, and can also offer the player higher wages than he would be on in Germany.
This would be an ambitious signing from Leeds as previously mentioned with the lofty heights once expected of Nubel, and shows that the club are being ambitious in their pursuit of new recruits in what has been a turbulent summer for the club.
In other Leeds United news, the club are close to another young signing having sealed one already.
