Leeds United want to seal Edoardo Bove transfer as Roma exit stance emerges
Leeds United have set their sights on midfielder Edoardo Bove after his low standing in the Roma pecking order was made clear, according to GialloRossi.net.
Daniel Farke has been keen to add more goals from midfield to his side and could find that in the form of Bove, who looks to be on his way out of the Serie A club.
The 21-year-old Italian youth international was reported to be looking elsewhere for a move this summer, having mostly been used as an “alternative” by Daniele De Rossi this season despite featuring against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League semi-finals.
However, the Roma publication also noted that Leeds will only be in a position to sanction a transfer for Bove if they secure an immediate return to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs, with their semi-final second leg against Norwich City coming up on 16 May.
Would Edoardo Bove be a good fit at Leeds United?
Leeds United could do far worse than adding a young and dynamic midfielder like Bove to their ranks – if, of course, they can seal promotion in the next few weeks.
The Whites’ last promotion in 2020 saw them spend big in the subsequent transfer window on Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Raphinha, but they failed to bring in a first-team central midfielder until two seasons later.

Bringing Bove to the club as one of their first signings back in the top-flight would ensure no such issue arises for the Peacocks this time around, and given how several of Leeds’ young players have blossomed under Farke’s tutelage this season, the signs point to Bove being a success at Elland Road.
Furthermore, Leeds being a one-club city could also be a tempting factor for Bove, who said in a recent interview with Roma that “we represent a city” and “you have a great responsibility.”
That’s exactly the kind of attitude that would make the youngster a big hit with Leeds fans, and they would undoubtedly welcome him with open arms – if they can secure promotion back to the Premier League.
