Leeds United want Paik Seung-ho transfer as Birmingham respond to bids today

Birmingham City have turned down bids for Paik Seung-ho on deadline day with Leeds United interested, according to Mike McGrath.

The Daily Telegraph journalist reported on X that Leeds and Sheffield United have shown interest in the South Korean maestro.

Daniel Farke’s side has still been busy on 30 August, with Ao Tanaka signing as their new midfielder from Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Paik Seung-ho would have been a stellar addition for Leeds United

One area of the Whites’ team that has been hit quite hard throughout the summer transfer window is that of their midfield.

Both Glen Kamara and Archie Gray have both been sold by the club which left a gaping void in the middle of their team.

Indeed, the deal for both players was in Leeds’ favour in terms of the fees paid, but, it left a lot for Farke to do in terms of recruitment.

Hence why it has taken until deadline day for Tanaka to be added to the squad. Granted, Joe Rothwell was also brought to Elland Road earlier in the window but his arrival was almost instantaneous after Gray’s exit.

Whilst a deal isn’t likely to come to fruition for Seung-ho, the option of a move coming further down the line is always there.

With little time left of the transfer window, it would be impressive to see more than Isaac Schmidt added to Farke’s ranks.
