Leeds United want four new transfers with late spree on cards at Elland Road

Leeds United want to bring in four new transfers before the end of the window in a bid to bolster their squad, according to Leeds Live.

The outlet reported (23 August) that the Whites want to average one new signing every two days before the August 31 deadline in a late spending spree.

With full-backs, midfielders and strikers the main targets this window, Farke and his team already have their priorities identified but said targets could wait “until push comes to shove” before they commit their future to Elland Road.

Leaving it late

While most football fans love a bit of late-window actions, Leeds fans will be anxious that the club are leaving a large bulk of their activity to the last minute.

Most recently, Leeds have been linked with Swansea striker Joel Piroe, but according to the Yorkshire Evening Post (23 August) could face a bidding war to seal his signature.

Elsewhere, they have found themselves in pole position to sign wantaway Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, with The Sun reporting (22 August) that they could get the Finnish international for £5.5million.

While the Elland Road faithful will be happy to see the 49ers Enterprises keeping active in the market for as long as possible, their underwhelming start to their Championship campaign will leave them wishing more had been done earlier.

The Whites’ business so far this summer has been impressive, with Ethan Ampadu and Sam Byram proving instant successes as they slot immediately into the starting XI, while Karl Darlow could prove a perfect replacement if Illan Meslier departs.

The face of this Leeds side will likely change significantly before September. With the futures of Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra still uncertain, the future is something of a mystery in Yorkshire.

In other Leeds news, the Whites look set to miss out on a highly-rated Premier League forward to a recently promoted side.
