Leeds United want double new transfer as late January update emerges

Leeds United still want to do two more deals before the January transfer deadline, but will only enter the market if the deals are right, according to Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist shared via his Twitter account on 23 January that, following exits for Luke Ayling, Djed Spence and Lewis Bate this month, the club are still looking to do more deals.

Leeds have been linked with deals for several players this month as Daniel Farke looks to flesh out his squad and give them the best chance of a push for promotion before 1 February.

What positions will they look at?

In a late bid to strengthen their squad, Leeds have been tracking several players in different positions they feel need strengthening to help Farke move towards success at Elland Road.

Right-back has emerged as somewhat of a priority position for Leeds in January, following the departure of Luke Ayling to Middlesbrough and the recall of Djed Spence who was allowed to leave the club to rejoin Tottenham, where he has since been loaned out again.

West Ham defender Ben Johnson and Liverpool youngster Calvin Ramsay have both been linked with possible moves and while Johnson would be permanent, the interest in Ramsay shows Leeds are also willing to use the loan market.

There could also be more departures from Elland Road in the closing stages of the transfer window, with the likes of Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Cresswell tipped to head for the exit door amid plenty of interest.

In other Leeds United news, Liverpool are set to make a decision on whether to let a Leeds target leave.
