Leeds United waive Jack Harrison loan fee as Everton close in on deal
Everton are close to securing another loan deal for Jack Harrison from Leeds United, according to Nancy Froston.
Froston’s report for The Athletic [19 June] claims Harrison is set to return to Goodison Park on loan for a second year and Everton will cover the midfielder’s wages, but Leeds will not receive a loan fee.
Harrison was one of several loanees due to report back to Thorp Arch for pre-season, but the club are looking to offload any players surplus to requirements by the end of this month to ensure they meet PSR criteria.
Leeds United strike bittersweet deal for Jack Harrison
The proposed second loan deal for Harrison to remain with Everton is a bittersweet one from a Leeds United perspective.
Whilst Daniel Farke and the club were not expecting to retain the 27-year-old in the Championship next season, to not receive a loan fee to bolster the club accounts for the month is not ideal.
The silver lining for the Whites is that Harrison will be completely removed from the wage bill for the coming season, as this is reported to be the Toffees’ whole responsibility.
Regardless of any potential financial slips for Leeds surrounding this transfer, it at least signifies getting business done early, as Farke will want his squad assembled as soon as possible – which will be difficult considering some of the players the club may be forced to sell.

An interesting and perhaps frustrating one with Harrison, but Leeds at least know where they stand.
