Leeds United triple exit on the cards before transfer deadline as Sky Sports name Ian Poveda, Mateusz Bogusz, Cody Drameh
Leeds United are ready to let three young fringe players leave Elland Road before the summer transfer window slams shut in just over a week’s time, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reported via their website on Thursday (25 August) that “Leeds are willing to let go the likes of Ian Poveda, Mateusz Bogusz and Cody Drameh before the deadline.”
Leeds have already waved goodbye to Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips, Laurens De Bock, Elia Caprile, Ryan Edmundson and Leif Davis, among others, this summer.
Sky Sports have listed all the business that Premier League clubs are expected to do before the summer transfer window closes at 11pm next Thursday (1 September).
They’ve made it very clear when they expect clubs to loan players out.
However, with Leeds, it seems like they’re suggesting permanent exits are on the cards for Drameh, Poveda and Bogusz.
It’s no shock with 21-year-old Polish midfielder Bogusz, who’s never really been anywhere near the senior side.
Poveda, 22, has had his moments with the senior side but it’s probably in his best interests that he moves on too.
We’re a bit shocked that Drameh’s name has been mentioned though.
The 20-year-old right-back joined us from Fulham last year and played five times in all competitions for the senior team before he was sent on loan to Cardiff in the Championship.
The England Under-21 international did brilliantly in Wales but it looks like his route to senior football at Elland Road is firmly blocked by Rasmus Kristensen’s arrival this summer.
Drameh started and played all 90 minutes against Barnsley on Wednesday night (24 August) as Leeds won 3-1 over their Yorkshire rivals in the Carabao Cup.
He’s clearly in Jesse Marsch’s plans to a degree so we are surprised about this one.
A loan deal would be best.
