Leeds United transfer update revealed ahead of Everton showdown in Premier League
Leeds United are not giving up hope of signing Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Not all that long ago, Leeds fans were calling on manager Daniel Farke to be sacked as they slid towards the Premier League relegation zone.
But a superb run of results has eased the pressure on the German, with Leeds earning plaudits from unlikely sources.
And in the winter transfer window, Leeds are trying to sign Wolves forward Strand Larsen, although the Premier League strugglers are digging their heels in.
Ahead of Leeds facing Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday, Yorkshire Evening Post writer Graham Smyth has provided an update on the pursuit of the 25-year-old.
Hope for Leeds in bid to sign Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen
Strand Larsen joined Wolves on loan from Celta Vigo last season and notched 14 goals and four assists in 35 Premier League games.
Wolves then signed him permanently for £23million last summer, and not long after, they rejected a £55m offer for the striker from Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old’s huge drop off in form, with the Norway international scoring just once in the league this season, has coincided with Wolves being rooted to the bottom of the division.
Leeds’ offer of up to £39m for Strand Larsen was rejected by Wolves last week, but YEP journalist Smith says this deal isn’t done and dusted.

He said on the Inside Elland Road Podcast: “Leeds have bid, and I think sometimes people think it’s just a case of faxing ‘£30m’ and the faxing back ‘no’, then faxing ‘£30m and one penny’ and then faxing back the word ‘no’.
“It’s very much a conversation and deals take time, they take long conversations, and Leeds are still actively pursuing him. So I think what we can derive from that is that they are still in conversation with Wolves and they are still in active talks with Wolves.”
Smyth added that there has been no positive movement on transfers ahead of the trip to Merseyside.

Leeds transfer links emerge amid relegation battle
As we enter the final week of the winter transfer window, Leeds fans are itching to know if any more recruits will come in through the Elland Road door.
Facundo Buonanotte has already joined on loan from Brighton, but so far, no other first-team signings have been made this month.
Leeds have been linked with a move for Strasbourg left-back Ben Chilwell, although a deal for the ex-Chelsea man seems unlikely.
Leeds sit five points above the relegation zone ahead of their trip to Everton – following wins for West Ham and Nottingham Forest at the weekend – and, in addition to that added pressure, supporters want more quality in the club’s ranks.

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is another reported Leeds target, while backup striker Joel Piroe could make an Elland Road exit if Strand Larsen is signed.
A key period is drawing near for Leeds, both on and off the pitch.
