Leeds United transfer news: Tyler Adams offered to West Ham United for transfer

Tyler Adams has been offered to West Ham for a summer transfer following Leeds United’s relegation to the Championship, according to 90min.

Writing on their website (17 July), the news outlet shared that the USMNT captain has been offered to the London club this summer as they look to replace Declan Rice following his sale to Arsenal in a British record transfer.

However with the 49ers keen to keep hold of as many top assets as they can following their takeover of the club, the report states there is no suggestion Adams will be playing in claret and blue when the season starts next month.

“Tyler Adams has also been offered to West Ham following Leeds’ relegation, but there’s no suggestion at this stage that the American international will be making his way to the capital,” they wrote.

By any means

If Leeds are serious about getting back up to the Premier League at the first attempt this season, then keeping Adams at the club would go a long way towards that.

An experienced and quality midfielder, Adams is still recovering from the hamstring injury that saw him miss the end of the season and in many people’s eyes is the reason that we went down on the final day.

As it stands the player hasn’t given any indication that he is desperate to leave the club this summer, and until that happens then Leeds need to do all they can to keep him at the club.

We don’t need the money from any potential sale, and if we can convince him to stay for another year then his level of talent and performance is likely to be a major advantage for us in the Championship.

It will be hard though with plenty of clubs likely to make a move between now and the window closing, but the Whites know keeping him is in our best interests.

In other Leeds news, there is a “good chance” this Leeds-linked ace leaves his club after two clubs dropped out of the race to sign him.
